At Houston’s innovative Citizenship & Immigration Forums, organized by New Americans Campaign partners Neighborhood Centers Inc., The City of Houston’s Office of International Communities and the NALEO Educational Fund as part of Houston’s Citizenship Week, more than 300 participants will receive pro-bono legal consultations and individual assistance with citizenship applications.
As part of a long standing collaborative effort to build local capacity for citizenship, this event connects underserved communities to expert attorneys, community partners as volunteers, eligibility screening, and Civics and English study materials.
2011 marked a record year for the Houston Citizenship and Immigration Forums, with more than 6,700 Houstonians attending the forums and learning about the citizenship process.
